Corset Care

All our corsets are made from only the best materials, fully boned using the finest fabrics.  They are easy to care for, and with proper treatment will last a lifetime.

Do not clean your corset often, normally just a dab with a nearly dry cloth is enough.  It is good to let your corset air however. If your corset should need a thorough clean then please use a good reputable dry cleaners.

FIRST TIME WEARING

The first time you put your corset on, take your time, you will soon get used to putting it on. You will need to loosen the back laces. You will see that these meet in the middle.  So keep the longer lengths in the middle. From the middle start loosening upwards and downwards.....give it a wiggle to help with the loosening. You want to loosen around 2”, take your time though as you don’t want to knot the laces in the process.  Then put the corset around you so that the lacing is at the back. To fasten at the front start by fastening the second clip from the bottom .  Once this is in place, fasten the remaining top ones, ensuring that the clips are all on the outer side of the corset (is easy to get a clip trapped inside), last but not least fasten the bottom one. It may seem fiddly at first, but you will soon get used to it. Especially as the corset moulds to your body. Then using the middle laces start tightening. Give a gentle tug then from the top start tightening the lacing always coming to the middle point. Do likewise from the bottom toward the middle long laces, then tug the middle gently. Keep doing this until at the required tightness. Not too tight to begin with remember.

It is so easy to pull in your corset as tight as possible, when you first purchase your corset. However, this can damage your corset. Tie reasonably close to your body but not too tight right away, as this could cause the fabric to burst. Your corset needs to be moulded to your body, over a period of time. This allows the fabric to gradually soften against your natural shape.

Taking off your corset, always make sure the back lacing is loosened off first.
